COURSE DESCRIPTIONS


PISTOL TRAINING 1

2 DAY COURSE

OVERVIEW:

Bruiser Industries Basic Pistol course is an introductory pistol training program focused on safe weapons handling, fundamental skills of weapons manipulation and marksmanship. The fundamentals are the foundation that all advanced skills are based off of. We focus on the ability to identify and put into practice these fundamentals to ensure you have a solid base to enhance you training moving forward.


PREREQUISITES:

Being an introductory course, the only required skills are to possess safe weapon handling skills and a willingness to learn.


WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • Grip, stance and the fundamentals of marksmanship
  • Introduction to movement
  • Introduction to the use of cover, barricades
  • Pistol care and maintenance
  • Pistol nomenclature and cycle of operations
  • Shooting positions
  • Weapons manipulations to include: loading, reloading, handling of common malfunctions
  • Zeroing theory and practice for iron and common red dot sighting systems

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT (MINIMUM):

  • 3 magazines (ability to have 25+ rounds loaded per course of fire)
  • 400 rounds for one day/1,000 rounds of ammunition for your respective pistol for two-day course
  • Ear and eye protection
  • Hydration
  • Modern holster with retention to retain pistol during movement
  • Modern semi-automatic pistol or revolver
  • Note pad
  • Pencil or pen
  • Pistol belt of some type (rigid belt)
  • Pistol magazine pouches for both spare magazines (if from concealment NEOmag or similar pocket clip is allowable)
  • Weapon cleaning kit/required tools

RECOMMENDED GEAR:

  • Gloves
  • Hat
  • Knee pads
  • Sunscreen

PISTOL TRAINING 2

2 DAY COURSE

OVERVIEW:

Bruiser Industries Pistol 2 course is an intermediate pistol training program designed to progress a student past basic concepts and expound upon these skills for a deeper level of understanding and application. This course will focus significantly more on movement, and use of cover. We will focus on the ability to identify and put into practice these fundamentals to ensure you have a solid base to enhance you training moving forward.


PREREQUISITES:

Being an intermediate pistol course, attendance of Bruiser Industries Pistol 1 or another vetted instructor pistol fundamentals course is highly recommended. Students are expected to have a solid grasp on function and maintenance, basic loading and unloading of the weapon and fundamental grasp of marksmanship principals.


WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • A deeper focus on recoil management and pacing
  • A variety of drills in use of cover, barricades for practical and tactical applications
  • Grip, stance and the fundamentals of marksmanship
  • Injured shooter/application of strong/weak hand-only weapon manipulation
  • Movement principles as well as entering and exiting positions
  • Target focus shooting and its application
  • Target transitions
  • Weapons manipulations to include, loading, reloading, handling of common malfunctions
